Role Purpose

The Controller plays a critical leadership role in maintaining the financial clarity and operational strength of the Strata Group of Companies. This position oversees financial management across multiple business entities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and efficient day-to-day financial operations.


This role is designed for a highly organized, analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and takes pride in building systems that support transparency, accountability, and smart decision-making.

Core Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate financial records across multiple companies using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online. Ensure transactions are properly recorded, categorized, and documented to maintain clean, audit-ready books.
  • Expense & Credit Card Oversight: Monitor and reconcile corporate credit cards, review employee expense reports, and ensure receipts and documentation are properly recorded using expense management systems.
  • Payroll & Compensation Administration: Manage bi-weekly payroll across all entities, including salary administration, commissions, bonuses, and compensation tracking. Ensure payroll compliance and accurate record keeping.
  • Accounts Payable & Vendor Management: Process vendor invoices, coordinate scheduled payments, and manage vendor relationships. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency or reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Accounts Receivable & Cash Management: Track incoming payments, monitor outstanding invoices, and ensure timely collections. Maintain oversight of cash balances and operational liquidity.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Develop and maintain forward-looking cash flow projections to help leadership anticipate financial needs and make informed financial decisions.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly financial reporting for leadership, including Profit & Loss statements, balance sheet reviews, expense analysis, and key financial metrics across all business lines.
  • Budgeting & Financial Planning: Assist leadership in preparing annual budgets and sales projections, while monitoring performance against those targets and identifying variances.
  • Intercompany Accounting: Manage and reconcile transactions between entities within the Strata Group to ensure accurate allocation of shared expenses and clean financial reporting.
  • Financial Systems Management: Maintain and improve accounting and financial technology systems such as QuickBooks Online, Dext, Plooto, Float, and related financial tools.
  • Internal Controls & Record Keeping: Establish and maintain strong internal controls, organized documentation, and financial approval processes that support accuracy, compliance, and operational integrity.
  • Leadership Support: Provide financial insights and analysis to leadership to support decision-making, strategic planning, and operational improvements.

Requirements & Competencies

  • Education & Experience: CPA designation or equivalent accounting experience is preferred. A strong background in multi-entity accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance is an asset.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, financial reporting tools, Excel, and financial technology systems.
  • Financial Analysis: Strong ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly to leadership.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in financial records, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Communication & Professionalism: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, team members, and external partners.
  • Operational Agility: Comfortable managing multiple priorities across several companies in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Integrity & Confidentiality: Demonstrates strong ethics, accountability, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.

Salary: Compensation will be negotiated based on experience.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours per week).
